I see this as an excellent up-to-date review of the important health aspects of soy. It deals with all the issues which are of topical relevance relating to health and soy consumption, including cholesterol lowering and heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis, peri-menopausal changes, sports nutrition, infant formula and mental function together with a section on valuable up-dates on current soy research.

The easy to read and well organised sections make this an essential resource for media and research workers alike, it is also of great use to physicians, nutritionists, dietitians and the educated general public.

The authors are indeed to be congratulated on producing a soy information kit that will have such a broad appeal.

This resource will be kept current by frequent up-dates as new data emerge in this exciting area of functional food research.
