The American Academy of Pediatrics extensively reviewed the clinical research on soy infant formulas and concluded in their 1998 position paper: "In term infants whose nutritional needs are not being met from maternal breast milk or cow milk-based formulas, isolated soy protein-based formulas are safe and effective alternatives to provide appropriate nutrition for normal growth and development 4 ".

A recent safety review by the Australia New Zealand Food Authority (ANZFA, now called Food Standards Australia New Zealand, FSANZ) also confirmed that exposure of healthy infants to soy-based infant formula over some 30 years of use has not been associated with any demonstrated harm 6 .
